Webinar: Joining Forces for a socially sustainable post-Covid Europe

As the pandemic endures, the employment and social impact of the COVID-19 outbreak is likely being even more dramatic than expected. National governments and European Institutions are in the forefront of the response but on the field, CSOs are directly involved in the provision of key services for the European people, and the more vulnerable in particular.

FEPS joins SOLIDAR for its European Conference 2020 to discuss lessons learned from the pandemic in the social realm, as well as CSOs’ role in a just recovery.

Wednesday, 2 December 2020 14.00-17.00 CET. Online conference.

How to devise national recovery strategies that make the best of the third sector contribution?
How to ensure that EU policymaking will seize the opportunity of this deep rethinking of economic and health policies to promote a sustainable recovery leading to a more social and equal Europe?

The event will also be an opportunity to give a preview of SOLIDAR Social Rights Monitor 2020. The flagship publication will complement the European Semester’s indicators with insights on the state of social rights and civic space, based on the observations of civil society across 17 countries in Europe. The full publication will be released in December.

FEPS is the European progressive political foundation

The Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) is the think tank of the progressive political family at EU level. FEPS mission is to develop innovative research, policy advice, training and debates to inspire and inform progressive politics and policies across Europe. It operates as hub for thinking to facilitate the emergence of progressive answers to the challenges that Europe faces today.

FEPS works in close partnership with its members and partners, forging connections and boosting coherence among stakeholders from the world of politics, academia and civil society at local, regional, national, European and global levels.

Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) network

Today FEPS benefits from a solid network of 68 member organisations. Among these, 43 are full members, 20 have observer status and 5 are ex-officio members. In addition to this network of organisations that are active in the promotion of progressive values, FEPS also has an extensive network of partners, including renowned universities, scholars, policymakers and activists.

FEPS ambition is to undertake intellectual reflection for the benefit of the progressive movement, and to promote the founding principles of the EU – freedom, equality, solidarity, democracy, respect of human rights, fundamental freedoms and human dignity, and respect of the rule of law.
