Today is European #112Day and we remind 112 as the European emergency number with a special debate!
- Do you think rescue forces like #firefighters should be seen more as heroes, like in the USA?
112
112 is the common emergency telephone number that can be dialed free of charge from most mobile telephones and, in some countries, fixed telephones in order to reach emergency services (ambulance, fire and rescue, police).
The EU telecoms rules ensure that Europeans can call European emergency number 112 from any type of phone, wherever they are in Europe. Currently 49% of European citizens are aware that the European emergency number 112 can be used across the Union in case of emergency.
Dial #112 and you’ll find help anywhere in the EU.
European Commission hopes you won’t need it, but if you ever get into emergency, anywhere in the EU, call 112! #112day #EUandME.
Do you prefer Fire Fighters more like US Heroes? This debate is inspired by German volunteer firefighter Jan from Pinneberg and the Year of German-American Friendship! #Wunderbartogether
